About Us

What is IEEE?

Professional IEEE:

IEEE, pronounced “Eye-triple-E”, stands for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. The association is chartered under this name and it is the full legal name. IEEE, an association dedicated to advancing innovation and technological excellence for the benefit of humanity, is the world’s largest technical professional society. It is designed to serve professionals involved in all aspects of the electrical, electronic and computing fields and related areas of science and technology that underlie modern civilization. For more information, visit the official IEEE website or IEEE Wikipedia page.

IEEE Student Sections:

Rowan IEEE is a University club, much like any other. While on the surface, it may seem like this is the major club for ECE and no-one else is allowed in, in reality we accept students of all majors who want a fun, relaxed place to improve themselves professionally and technically, and have fun while doing it. Rowan IEEE is the largest SGA chartered club on the Glassboro campus, and as such we offer a wide variety of different activities and events for members.
